I was telling a friend that I might remove my oil pan at next change to remove any sludge inside and he suggested I save the work and pour K-1 in after draining and shake vehicle. This sounds rather kooky not to mention bad for engine. Any opinions?
Also if I remove pan, how much work involved and if practical what are pan bolt torque specs? This car was purchased with very little history and 168,000 showing. I don't want the same old trash going around inside dispite future oil changes. I am leary of comercial flushes because I have heard they can loosen too much gunk and damage an older engine. Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Roscoe ------------------ |

Don't do this. Just change the oil often. USe a good detergent oil.
