I'm not sure, but from your description, it sounds like it could be a nuclear detonator and should be put very carefully back on the shelf next to the dictionary. <G,D,R> ;-)

dakota is right. be very careful with it. any sudden moves and it might explode.

Also make sure that the metal shaft does not go into the belly of the main shaft or it will self detonate on the spot.

Enjoy!

Benzman500,

You should look for some sorta part # or brand name on the part...that would make it much easier to find out what it is.

your description sounds like a washing machine engine. with few modifications it can be used as a booster for your wipers motor or for your radio antenna.

Dan, I hate to say this, but why set yourself up for this type of response.. If it was in your garage and you don't even know what it is or was, is it reasonable to expect anyone else might know w/o ever even seeing the object in question. At any rate, I don't think its a detonator . It's a motor (engine), whatever. Throw it away..

I am posting this for Benzman500. It is in regards to the issue with the motor in the box in the garage.

My parents went for a while when they first got the car getting extra parts.
It is a bosch motor with the numbers
fpe 12v0130821037 then says brose cobrug 680- 26921. the box also says a001
820 49 42.i am asking because I have no windshield wiper motors and one to
buy is a lot better than two. BTW the dealer where they got the part would
sometimes put 91 560sel parts on it because it is a euro model.

I think it is the missing flux capacitor that Michael J. Fox was looking for in the Back to the Future movie. I suggest you take this to an auction. You may be a millionaire. These things go for high bids.

Benzman,

From the number you provided to jeffsr, I found the following:

It is a 12 volt motor.
It is MB part number 001 820 49 42.
A quick check at PartsShop shows it to be a - window lift motor LT RR, cost $156.62.

Sorry it isn't your wiper motor, but on the bright side you have an extra window lift on your hands.

Dan,

Your question regarding the motor is a LEGITIMATE Tech Help question, but the manner in which you asked it made it seem otherwise. Your current post should have read:

Topic:
plz confirm part # for wiper motor on Euro 500SEL

Message:
I currently have a spare motor sitting in a box, which I suspect to be the wiper motor for my '95 Euro 500SEL. It is a Bosch motor, with the part # FPE 12v0130821037, and has the wording, "brose cobrug 680-26921". The box also says a001 820 49 42. Thank you.

If you had put the question in the manner shown above, your question could have been answered very promptly. Anyhow, hope this tip helps in the future, and I'll be seein' you around this board in the future.

DuckMuck, I sent him an email with some fatherly advice about post content and spelling issues. He had a motherboard failure (not related to the motor (engine)). and asked if I would post the info for him. I agreed. After all, he is trying, and does admit that he "sucks" at spelling. Well I "suck" at making birthday cakes, so we all have our shortcomings. At any rate, it is my hope the quality of his work will improve with age and at least someone figured out what that thing in the box was. I can vaguely remember being that young. BTW, check his profile and eyeball his web page. Not too shabby.... A pleasant good evening to all..
