Advice to drive out lower A-Arm bolts? (R107)
Any suggestions to remove A-arm bolts? I hit a punch with a hammer but it didn't move. Can I use a puller to push it out?

A seized lower contorl arm bolt in your neck of the woods may require the Gas Wrench
Try using a sawzall, go between the bushing and the subrame and watch your stroke........I've had to do a few 123 chassis's this way |

Thanks for the suggestion.
I didn't think I would get that answer even though I thought of it too. I hope it doesn't come to that but I guess it doesn't matter as long as I don't damage anything. I don't have a great shot with a punch anyway.

Does the bolt even turn? If not than I would imagine hammering on the bolt will do little due to the rebounding effect from the rubber mount.
Nice new blade, regulate your speed too initilaize the cut than go to town. You may start by cutting into the mount than through the bolt, it's just a lot more material to cut through. |

Thanks MB Friends! A-arm removed.
A friend told me it sticks because the metal sleeves in the bearings rust onto the bolt. I aggressively moved the A-arm up and down while turning the bolt and it clearly broke loose. Then I sprayed PB and simply tapped out the bolt with a punch. It was easy.
Now getting the bushings out of the A-arm was another story. Who needs to work out when you can pull on these bushings? A big gooseneck pliers and spray lube worked well enough. Three came out but one deformed so bad the center pulled out leaving the rubber with a metal sleeve stuck inside. I am going to cut it with a saw but not touch the inner bearing surface. It’s Fun!?! I may just take it to work and use a press but it could be harder to fixture than just using the saw and elbow grease.
