124- Rear brake help
I took the rear brakes apart last night, and found that Parking Brake Lever (#59 in image below) was seized up beyond all repair, so I tied it back, and reassembled the hydraulic bits without the parking brakes for now (my daily driver).
It did not appear that the Parking Brake Lever (#59) could be detached from the Parking Brake Cable Ferrule (#62). Hopefully my conclusion is wrong. Can they be separated here, or is the process to cut the cable, and somehow crimp a new Ferrule (#62) on?

They can be separated.
I've changed the cables on mine before. It was not immediately obvious how it works & I can't remember how to describe it. I think there is a pin that comes out and gets reinserted. Regards,

Thanks Brian,
No cable cutting is the answer I was hoping for. I guess I did not look closely enough (or clean it enough) to see the pin you speak of. Did the new cables come with a new lever mechanism (#59)?

No, they're separate parts. I cleaned my lever and reused it.
