LOTS of r12 available on Ebay
You may have seen my post on my inadequate A/C in my 190. So, I just ambled over to Ebay to see what I could see.
Holy cow, the stuff is everywhere. Thoughts? |
For those who have a 609 certification it's not a bad way to get it. For those who don't, they can get the certification by spending $15 and a few hours taking the open book test.
The last time I perused ebay, the price of R12 has seemingly gone down. Makes sense. Supply and demand. The vehicles that require this stuff and are still on the road decline every day. Good luck, |
Never in short supply on Ebay, though prices seem to be a bit higher than for this season last year. Folks must be finding old cans of liquid gold in their basements everyday. Many are going for more than retail. If you are patient, you can get a deal.
You still generally (and legally) need a 609 certificate. |
You have to wonder how much of it on eBay is imported. I heard rumors that r12 is the third most imported contraband in Florida. Maybe less now, as LarryBible said, due to a drop in demand.
