I've almost gotten this car running perfect. 26mpg town and 31 hwy. Plugs run white around curve to light tan at the tip. BUT there is a slight hesitation when I'm pulling out and winding it up 2500 - 3500 rpm(not punching it but winding it out, light load) Also it doesn't do it when the engine is cold or until about 75-80°C. I've taken a variable resistor and hooked it up AS the temperature sensor for the ignition module. At 750 to 800 ohms the hesitation quits. Both the temperature sensors read 340 ohms at running temperature. What do you think? Do you know what the gray area is between cold and warmed up? I plan to run a tank of gas through to check the mileage...
This car was serviced at the MB place of purchase all the way through 127K miles. I got it at 132K.
New, plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, vac line looks good.....

Don't know what the rating should be at normal operating temp. Maybe you should post this one for Steve Brotherton. If it's OK when cold, then it's losing it's calibration when it warms up. Maybe Steve has better, more precise info for you.

Thanks Jeff, the rated value is within the book spec. I'm adding more resistance. Who/Where is Steve Brotherton?

Steve is the electrical, diagnostic wizard on this site. I read every one of his posts, and I learn something each time I read one. You shouldn't have to be "adding resistance" to get normal operation. Maybe the temp sensor is out of spec when it gets warm. Why not replace it. They're not very expensive. BTW, whatever is wrong can't be too bad with MPG's like you're getting.. Wish I could do that with the 300E..
