A land rover question (MAF)...
Hey everyone. I know this is kinda off-topic, but I haven't found any Land Rover forums as technically oriented as this one. The MAF on my mom's rover has gone bad (97 Discovery 4.0 gasoline v8). I was wondering if anyone here had access to a shop manual or other documentation describing how to replace the part. I would be greatly indebted to whoever could help me out with this one.

You poor sob, $575 for a new MAS for on fastlane. But seriuosly, IF you are sure it's the MAF, buy the part see what it looks like and replace it. The air intake should be easy to get at.
An alternative: take the part off and clean it. Usually there is crud/gunk on the sensor wire that the air flows across. If you clean it with some carb cleaner, it should work fine. I replaced mine last year, should have tried cleaning it first. good luck... |
