W210 car. the How do you change outside temp from C to F

Hi, I own a w210 1996.

The mb dealer said they can change the temp display C to F but they will charge me for it.???!!!!

How do you change the digital outside temp display from F to C or vise versa since I want to do it myself.

Also, can you change the 24 hour clock to a 12 hour clock. There are a lot of times when this 24 hour time is confusing.

thanks a lot

All you do is hook up to the scanner and change the variant code, or if you don't have a scanner you will have to obtain a copy of the Diagnostic Manual and read up on the manual variant coding procedure.

Such is available for a fee at www.startekinfo.com

But, I think you originally asked for outside temp and that would be displayed on the instrument cluster and if changable would have to be done with the scanner on its variant programming. Of course if you went to the diagnostic manual you could find how to display outside temp on the AC display through actual values.

Ohhhhh

Thanks for the reply.

I guess I have to stay with that F reading since I don't have a scanner.
