dash controls

I am trying to familiarize myself with all of the controls and switches to figure out what is working and what is not. If not, I am open to any ideas available

1. The head rests on the front seat will move up with the motor but need pressure to go down.

2. On the dashboard there are buttons above the climate control that I can't come up with a purpose for and don't seem to activate anything and the symbols are not familiar.

3. On the right side of the sunroof track there is a small arm that has dislodged from the main track and may be broken. Where do I start with repairing it? Do I need to remove the sunroof itself?

4. Is there a place where I can find basic info such as that the kind found in the owners manual?

Thanks, more questions to come

1. The clips that hold the headrest post to the motorized riser are broken. You might be able to fix them. Otherwise it's a US$17 part. Remove the two screws at the corners of the bottom edge of the rear cover of each front seat. Then pull down and remove the cover. It should be obvious how the headrest mechanism works.

2. There should be buttons for the sunroof, rear dome light, hazard flasher, rear headrest collapse and antenna. There might be other buttons depending on options.

3. Maybe the arm that pulls down the little deflector as the sunroof closes?

4. There's lots of info in the archives. If you have a lot of repairs to do, it's well worth getting the MB shop manuals available on CD from FastLane (see link at the top of the page). You might be able to find printed manuals on eBay or some book seller.
