gear selector light
I have a 1991 Mercedes Benz 190E with a 2.3 automatic. How do I change the light bulb in the gear selector that is on the console?

I didn't see a "have you tried the search function" option in your poll.
Small bayonet type bulb most likely, located at the upper left corner of the shift gate. That should help point you on your way.

Actually yes I have on a W124. I said LOL because I have never seen anyone post the actual button off the page like Limited Edition did in his post. I thought that was rather funny at the time.
You should do a search, a lot of us here use to drive around with dark shift gates until someone pointed out there was a light in there somewhere. It shouldn't be to hard to pull the console up and find the bulb. Good luck. |

Do I have to raise the console very high to get to the bulb. In a service manuel it says to take the console out that I would have to loosen the hand brake adjustment. Do I have to go this far to get to the bulb?
