Front Sportline Swaybar Fit??

I just installed the Sportline front Swaybar on my 90 300CE and it's touching the front oil pan - I have not driven the car to settle the suspension due to other work on the car. Has anyone else installed the sportline bar & bushing and notice a tighter clearance with the oil pan??

Thanks

I have not, but this made me wonder if your engine mounts might need to be changed ....

My $.02

haasman is on to something here. I have a sportline sway bar in my 124 and it doesn't touch the pan.

Good luck,

I

The car has new engine mounts. The front Swaybar's Part#
is 124 323 63 65 instead of 124 323 63 65 as posted in this form. I'm going to check if I was sent the wrong bar or just a misprint - it looks right when compared. I bought the kit from Fastlane about two years ago and just getting around to putting them on.

Just took a look at my '87 300E w/ limo bar. It has about 1" clearance at the pan.

This may sound crazy, but is it possible to mount a bar upside down?

With the front bar so easy to remove / install, may I suggest setting both next to each other off the car.

That should tell you if the bar is correct for the car.

Found out why the bar did not fit. The bar that was sent to me was for a 124 4matic. Someone at the Mercede Benz where it was shipped out from missread 68 for 63 - just my luck any other 124 would have fit. Will call Phill at Mercedes Shop if he can resovle this problem. Thanks for the all the adivce.
