Seized rear shock - 124

While looking for a rear left rattle, I pulled the wheel well lining to find my Bilstein shock arm seized in extended position.

I tried pushing, shoving, hammering the arm back down but it wouldn't budge. I've heard of shocks leaking, but never seizing like this. Is it possible the arm somehow twisted into a locked position??

Thanks for any help! :D

I've had a Bilstein loose travel - it would not compress all the way - lost at least half the travel.

You just need to replace the one bad shock. The Bilstein "comfort shock" is the OE replacement. High pressure deCarbon type shocks do not need to be replaced in pairs.
