1987 300E Windshield washer nozzle clogged

Hi:

One of my windshield washer nozzles is clogged. How do I get it un-clogged? I used a bare electrical wire but could not get it through the two little holes. How do I remove the nozzle from the hood if I have to remove it and clean? Is there a type of solvant that could disolve the crud in the nozzle? Please advise, thanks.

Try a pin like the ones you get in a new dress shirt.

There are filters in a few spots & these can get clogged up and stop flow too.

here's a trick

I use acetylene torch wire files. go to the local welding supply and get a set of torch tip files. they have numerous wire sizes with the file on the tip. all you need to do is start with the smallest wire tip to go into the nozzle then after cleaning it out go to the next size until it flows right. the wires are stiff.

our good buddy earl stopped by the shop one saturday and gave me a "B" string. then it dawned on me about the welding files. they come in a small aluminum case and are attached so they stay put.

try it i think you'll be surprised.

Problem solved. The tiny sewing needle solved the problem.
Thank you all for helping.
