Name this dohickey!
 

While working on our recently aquired 75 450 SL, I found a partially disconnected part which I can't identify from the manuals. It is a white plastic cylinder with a square base, electrical connection on top (connected) and two hoses approx. 1/4" id. pointing straight up from the base (disconnected). It is mounted to the right side of the radiator, just in front of the cruise control mech. 1) what is this? 2) how important? 3) what are the hoses supposed to go to?
