OVP location on '87 260E... can't find...
Hi All,
I looked behind the black cover @ the rear of the batter and all I found was the fuel pump relay and A/C relay... Isn't the OVP supposed to be there too? thanks, |
|
2nd look
I'll take a 2nd look but I'm sure I could not see it. Do I have to take the battery out? Should it clearly visible...
thanks, |
Should be visible with battery in. Not that access is great.
|
ok...
thanks... will have to see...
|
should one just replace this after a particular mileage ? what are the signs of a faulty ovp that one should look for ?
|
OVP found
I found it... I'll have to pull it out and check its health... thanks all...
|
Can anyone tell me if it is normal that the OVP unit gets hot during normal driving, just about so hot as I can touch it without burning myself. Or is that a sign of some bad solder connection?
/L |
check solder
How does one disassemble the OVP? Do you pull the insides down or up through the case? Do you have to pop off the red piece off the top first?
thanks, |
I am in the process of doing this myself this weekend, and I would guess you pull the fuse, bend the metall grips holding in the bottom and pull the cover including the top. Should this be completeley wrong so I wreck the piece, pls someone tell me/us before...;)
