Replacing Battery 1991 w126 560 SEL

I removed the two electrical connections and there are no other visible brackets or holddowns for the battery on my 1991 560SEL but am unable to get it out. Before applying any additional force I wanted to check w/ the forum to see if there are any brackets or holddowns not visible to keep the battery in place? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx much. Raj

I have never owned a W126, but on the W124 and W201 chassis, there is a metal bracket about 3" wide that secures the base of the battery to the tray. One 10 mm nut holds this bracket in place.

HTH,

Thx much guys. There are two small brackets at the bottom of the tray with 10 mm nuts holding each. Removing them was required to get the battery out. Thx. Raj
