Need your help and advice

I have a 2000 E320 and need to replace both left and right catalyt converters. I found it about $430 per piece from online store. But according to the search result on cat converter people mentioned that replacement cost for both converters are around $2500. This confused me on how come both parts only worth $860 but the final bill is 25k. Is it a lot of labor to get this job done. Is it a DIY job.

My car is a right-wheel car and most of those parts online places are from US, do i need different cat converters for my car.

Thanks for your advice...

Joe

Welcome to the world of Mercedes repair bills. The parts aint cheap and neither is the labor. Luckily I have been able to fix everything myself on mine, so far. One thing for sure, do not take it to any of the cut rate muffler repair shops. Take it to a shop with Factory certified mechanics to ensure it is done right. That way you get quaility workmanship and a gurantee that they will stand behind.

Catalyst converter problem

Most shops claim their parts are MB original parts but actually they use OEM parts instead. It's kind of hard to locate knowledgable and also honest MB mechanic and this is true no matter where you live.
