ASD and ABS problems 190e 2.5 16v

I have had my car off the road for a while fitting new stainless hoses and ebc greenstuff pads. I fired it up for the first time this weekend and seem to have developed a problem with the abs/asd.

Before I took the car of the road I had staggered tyres front to rear and the difference in rolling diameter was tripping the asd; I ended up removing the relay as always having the light on was irritating, I now have matching tyres all round (205/40/17) so assumed the problem would go. The asd light now comes on with the ignition and stays on, I tried my tested method of cleaning asd relay terminals and disconnecting the battery for a while but it’s not going off.

The abs……abs light comes on with ignition and turns off when you start the car but the as soon as the car is moving the abs light comes on and stays on. The front sensors are under 6 months old. The rear sensor in the diff was cleaned recently but did get pretty wet as I jet washed the underside of the car when the diff was removed for its replacement– could this have screwed it up?

I also lowered the car by changing the length of the SLS rod, as the asd and sls have the same hydraulic feed could this be the problem?

I have checked the ovp fuses – both ok.

Could my tyre size/new brake pads/stainless hoses be causing a problem?

Could someone shed some light?

Many thanks

Steve

You need to read the code. It may be the rear sensor.

I don't think you'll see a button if your car is pre 94. However you can make a code reader which basically reads the analog signals from the diagnostic sockets.
