Make sure that your level is topped off when cold first.

....different cars I know but I once drove a '86 Opel Manta GTE that did exactly the same when I changed the oil to Mobil 1. The engine just hated it and the oil light wound up driving me mad with it's continual flashing and flickering. I drained and refilled with a stock 20W-50 and never had another moments trouble. What oil you running in yours ?

When it comes on, how long does it take to go out? Check your sump for damage. Check connector at level sending unit.

Thanks guys for your input.

I am currently using 5W 30. I change my oil every frequently every 2000-3000 miles. I suspect it to be something electrical due to the fact that it is the light coming on. I estimate that it usually comes(stays) on for about 10-30 seconds. The time it stays on also depends if I come to a full stop then the light will diminish. I bought a oil sending unit at the dealer and plan on replacing the part tommorow.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED ON WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I CHANGE THE UNIT
