Anticipate future need for Fan Clutch, but in my search I cannot believe the ab$urd co$t!! Three to five hundred dollar$$!!! What gives? A Hayden thermostatic viscous fan clutch for my 89 GMC K 2500HD cost less than Fifty US dollars with Lifetime Warranty from Lappens Automotive here in Boston Ma. Is there a fan clutch made available for another application that would fit my 420SEL?? By the way this wonderful vehicle has in excess of two hundred thousand miles(216,068) miles so I guess it certainly is deserving of this mantenance!! Anticipating any responses with gracious manner Thank-you kindly...

Unless your clutch is drasticaly different from mine (300 CE/104 engine), it should not cost more than $150 in the PartsShop here.
Now, instoling it is a different story, you need a special tool but probably somewhere within $100 labor. By the way the dealership quated $270 for the part and $170 for work. Dmitry 90' 300CE |
