1995 E 320 Special Edition
I just bought a 1995 E 320 Special edition. What makes it special? There is a button on othe console that has a person on it. What does that button do? Also, any idea how I can get an owners manual?
Thanks. |
Pictures? I know the wheels are polished as opposed to painted.:D How many miles on it?
|
All 1995 W124's have polished alloy wheels.
Not all 1995 E320's and E420's are special editions. I'm not sure exactly what options came with the special edition status, but apparently all cars came fully loaded. The only one item I am sure of is this: regular 1995 E320's come with zebrano wood. Special Edition E320's come with burl wood, just like E420's. |
1995 E300D SE...
...has a 24+ gallon fuel tank. I don't know if the gas version has a larger tank or not.

It has 119,000 on it. Had my mechanic check it out and he said it is all good. This is the first one he has passed. I had him look at 4 other E 320's and they all had major problems with it.

Sounds good.
How much is the seller asking for it? |
The Special Edition was a 1995 option package designed to unload the last of the 124 bodies. They came with a cell phone, a CD changer, six hole alloy wheels, brushed stainless steel door sill trim, and on the E320s and E300s: burl walnut trim like the 420s, power steering column, memory drivers seat and high performance sound system. It was supposedly several thousand dollars worth of stuff for $1295 for the 320s and 300s and $495 on the 420s. It was only available on the sedans, not on the coupes. Of course today the cell phones are worthless and CD players are broken. I like the six hole wheels and personally think they are desirable cars.

Thanks so much for the info. I appreciate it. It is a nice car, I do like the driver seat memory and the CD player still works!
Any idea where I can get an owners manual? |

I've also seen bona fide Special Edition E320 and E420's also with the 8 hole wheels with my own eyes. Strange. I've only seen one E320 special edition with the 6 hole wheels at a GTG several months ago. They are the same wheels, I think, that were used again on the 1997 W210 E420. Regular 400E's / E420's from 1992-1994 already got the burl walnut wood. What does make the package very worthwhile to me on the E320 is the Burl Walnut wood, which IMHO is much more attractive than the Zebrano. |

I believe all special editions had six hole wheels. The 97 E420 had five hole wheels - quite similar looking. |

I noticed on the MBUSA website that 1993 300E (3.2's) were the most expensive W124 300E or E320's sold. I believe mine stickered at $49,600. Do you have a pic of the six hole wheels? I don't believe I've ever seen them, unless the '95 E320 special edition that I saw had six hole wheels and I just figured they were five holers. |

jimmydean,
The slide switch in between the two left window switches in the center console is for disabling the power window switches on the rear doors, to prevent inadvertent operation (i.e. by children). When the symbol is visible the window switches on the rear doors are disabled (the rear windows will still work from the console switches though). Slide it to the left to reactivate them. See Bob I's post in this thread for more info on the special edition package: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-benz-cars-sale/92086-wanted-buy-e420.html What color is your E320 SE?
