126 Front End/Track Mount question
This is a "Should it be pressed and if so, how" question.
Lower ball joints need to be pulled and pressed, tie rod ends need to be pulled only, not pressed - how about the Track Rod Mounts ? I remember seeing a thread a long time ago regarding this, but could not find it again. I seem to recall that the mounts do not need to be pulled but do need to be pressed. PLease advise. Thanks |

You can knock them out and seat the new ones using a hammer and large drift (old king pins work good), or you can have them pressed out/in.

Thanks Mike, I was making extra sure I knew what I was doing before getting there and being surprised...
Thanks Warren, I do remember that thread and have reread it. I spent many hours on my back today and did the bearing brackets on both sides,. I think I did well. It got really late so my test drive is tomorrow. Now all that is left is the lower conntrol arm bushings. |
