Hi all!

Have a quick question. How much does it cost to change the rubber piece on the wiper blade at a dealer or an independent garage? I just got mine replaced for about $20! Is that about right? I mean $20 isn't too much, but for a rubber piece?! Anyhow, I'm just curious if that's about right.

By the way, how easy is it to change it? Is it just the rubber piece that needs to be replaced or does it include the arm that holds the rubber piece as well? Think I'll do that next time. I just didn't have the time to locate a place that would have my wiper blade. My car is a '90 190E.

Thanks.

That's in the ballpark for the blade. Lift up the wiper arm so it's off the windshield in the locked position, Slide the old blade towards the wiper hub and remove. Reverse ofr installation. Happy wiping

We sell the wiper inserts (the rubber part) in PartsShop for less than $5. They are Bosch OE quality parts.

Look up your car in FastLane to see...

I am about to replace the rubber piece on the wiper blade too. Strangely, the wiper blade is (25 inches) long on the 99 E430. I couldn't find a replacement refill or the whole blade anywhere, but the dealer. I believe the rubber piece is the Bosch Micro Edge Excel version. The rubber is completely wrap around the metal piece.
I don't understand why Bosch would make such an odd length, so that it doesn't even sell the refill in a regular auto store.

The requirement is from MB, for saftly reason. MB wants to clean/wipe about 90%?? Most part store only carry common sizes. My 140 uses two diff size.

Didn't know partshop carried the 25"
I replace mine with a 24" arm Bosch micro edge for $9.
The extra inch is only used to wipe a very, very small section at the bottom of the windshield. Now, I no longer have to mess around to find a replacement 25". Almost everybody carries 24". . .
