E320 - Interior trim advice

Folks - A little help please.

The prior owner had a stereo shop install a cellphone cradle for her Nokia phone. The cradle is anchored to something inside the center console by way of a metal strap which snakes its way into the console between the console and the kickpanel on the left side of the passenger-side footwell.

I want to remove the cradle (stupid thing creaks and I have a Motorola anyway), but I'm embarrassed to say I can't find my way into the console from the passenger footwell. I either can't find the clips which hold the kickpanel to the console or I don't understand how that side of the dash is put together. I thought it would be the same as the driver's side (with the clips, etc.), but it's defeating me. Any advice?

Otherwise the car is perfect - even the transmission, which has had its fluid changed 4 times in the life of the car.

Thanks.

Peter -

Thanks very much.

I assume you mean your post/pictures regarding center vent removal to replace the thumbwheel light in the center vent. I think that'll get me where I want to go. Silly of me not to have thought of it, having dismantled the center consoles of the W124s in my past for stereo improvement purposes.
