More idle problems

Hi all, I tried searching through the forums, and found some help, but no luck with finding a solid answer. I spotted some diagrams but still nothing. My car has been stalling recenlty with the warmer wether, it happens when the AC is on. I have had an idle problem for over a year now and the mechanics i take it too suck and have not fixed the problem. they have changed the idle valve, cold start valve, etc... their solution was to turn the idle way up.. so shifting was destroying the transmission.. so i turned it downed last month with that screw.. My car is a 91 190E 2.3 There is a pic of what i did to make it not run at all. I tired playing with that allen screw to make the car idle faster. I belive i backed it out to far. It now catches, but wont actully turn back in place. if i push the flap, the spring loaded screw pops back up. there is no tension also when i try to screw it in.. Is there a certain way to get this to work again? i cannot remove the allen peice because it seems to be riveted to the intake. I have to go to work tommorow on my motocycle but i need the car soon for work. Any ideas to get it to run again?

If your CO/idle mixture screw won't move anymore, chances are you are So far out of the normal range of adjustment I'm not surprised it won't work. Which way did you turn it..Right is rich, left is lean. You may have to tear down the intake manifolds to see what you can do to get that allen head moving again.

i went to far left, thats when it stopped doing anything and the car stopped running. The screw turns fine, just nothing happens now, i cant feel any resistane on the screw, I was looking to take that part off, looks like only 3 10mm nuts, but i dont want to move around the steel fuel lines.
