W210 Turn Signal Stalk replacement procedure ?

What is the best method to replace a turn signal stauk on a 97 E Class. I have a replacement that I need to install yet it apears the steering wheel needs to be pulled?

Thanks,

There is a complete blow by blow with pictures in the jan/feb 2004 issue of the Star Magazine.

Covers 1996-2003 W210 E-class cars.

Looks easy enough but many steps.

Signal stalk

The post is correct, the "StarMag" had a detailed article. The proceedure is to remove airbag, steering wheel, contact spiral, and the connector uner the dash. Dont forget to have your radio code!
The STAR is a publication for Mercedes Club of America members, they sell back issues for $4 and I think they sell "tech bulletins". It is worth the $45, for the six great publications with tech tips, reviewas and want ads, and local club membership. 800-637-2360

My local dealer also gives a discount on parts if you're a member. You can very quickly recoup the membership fee.
