Water Pump replacement 190E

I used the search and found the normal stuff about water pumps leaking. My car is a 190E 2.6 M103 1992 model. The leak I have is severe as in it wont hold water period. I poor water In the expansion tank it goes to the ground the car is now inoperable. I read in a post in the search that someone had a 380SL that had the same problem and someone mentioned a "weep hole" behind the pully and that if that the symptoms described above were caused by this weep hole it is a tell tale sign of the entire water pump in need of being replaced.

This is my main question what all should I buy parts wise to ensure that the water leak does not occur. For instance what if the leak is not coming from the "weep hole" what if it is coming from a line I just want to have all of the angles covered.

the Water Pump its self is $154 and the Water pump kit is $89 dollars from thebenzbin does anyone know where I can get the part cheaper or if i need the kit. how about the o-rings that go on the pipe to the cylinder head.

What are the engine ranges?

10-020231-
12-067444-

How do I tell what engine range I have.
I'm guessing VIN#?

Im assuming MB changed the design mid year or something of that nature?

The 1992 1902.6 and the 300E Share the same exact water pump and layout since they are both M103 engines is this not correct?

I will just assum get everything that says water pump.

Does anyone know where there is a tutorial on changing out the water pump on an M103 engined car?

I need my 190REV....Where is MTI or rik when I need them.

Thanks for your help
ANDY

Change the thermostat and that short fat hose while you're at it, and maybe the belt too. And if you have money burning a hole in your pocket throw in a new tensioner
