Which trunklid would you choose?
I am wondering which style trunklid would look best on my silver 1989 300ce. Here are the different versions I found so far to choose from:
1st. (1988-1989) style http://users.eastlink.ca/~lebforces/1.jpg 2nd. (1990-1993) North American style http://users.eastlink.ca/~lebforces/2.jpg 3rd. (1990-1993) Euro style http://users.eastlink.ca/~lebforces/3.jpg 4th. (1994-1995) North American style http://users.eastlink.ca/~lebforces/4.jpg 5th. (1994-1995) Euro style http://users.eastlink.ca/~lebforces/5.jpg 6th. Cabrio style with light integrated http://users.eastlink.ca/~lebforces/6.jpg 7th. Aftermarket #1. Trunk lid with integrated spoiler http://users.eastlink.ca/~lebforces/7.jpg |

Do you know where to buy #7 trunk lid spoiler? I can't seem to find the supplier info for that one.

you should probably get one that fits the license plate you have to use. personally, i would just use the one that's on the car now and spend upgrade money on something that makes the car corner or stop better.

I like 7 as well, but 6 is kool too. I once found a distributor for the #7, but I emailed them said lets do this, and they were gone so its actually good I didnt act sooner, probably woulda got shafted, they were in lithuania, autonoksa.lt, cheap too only like $350 USD i think. And erebuni used to have them, now i dunno... If you or anybody finds out, post up, they're pretty kool. Otherwise, it looks like it'll be a custom job from a body shop. Probably not even all that complex but probably cost a bunch.
BTW, I think the CE corners and stops just dandy, no "need" to upgrade. Especially around town and stuff, the ride is "sporty" enough.:D |

Anybody know KaRaKaN or where he got his trunk lid?

I personally like the trunk lids in your icon.

The 2nd. (1990-1993) North American style is actually the same for 1994-1995 in the coupes.
The 4th. (1994-1995) North American style is a sedan. The coupes and cabriolets never got the chrome strip beneath the star logo. They kept the black strip. Of course, the badge was changed to E320 and the tail lights were changed to red / clear. I believe the coupes trunk lid has a different shape, and that from the sedan can't be retrofitted. |

your '89 should look like the first #1 pic. if so, your euro tag will fit with a plate holder. last year i tried very hard to get/find a #3 euro insert, ventually the U.S. dealer got tired of trying and told me it wasn't available. if you find a source, i'd be interested. you/we only need the 'euro filler panel insert'. they have to be a hell of a lot cheaper to ship than a entire decklid. if we can only find a motivated non-us located member who would/will help BTW the rear deck lid spoilers are available from www.eurocarparts. get the 'hella' one. these were common [somewhat] on w201's and the w124's. also rather tasteful i think peter |
