Does anyone have a set like this:

Anyone? Well does anyone like this or seen something nicer?

Any popular exhaust upgrades for the W124?

Personally it looks like rice to me; just like those in Honda's or Hyundai's with big mufflers in the back. I just prefer the factory look. I can' t relate Mercedes to being a ricer... Just my opinion.

Doesn't look terrible, just don't like it. It reminds me of my freind's cheap 92 Chevrolet Lumina that has the rear dual exhaust like that...

Lino,

Most of the posts you have ongoing here are 99% of the "bling bling" sort of stuff that most of the Mercedes-Shop members are not really interested in, especially on the technical help forum. You might find a better response in the Performance Paddock area, or here...

These guys are mostly into 19" wheels, fake speedos, lowering springs, body kits, and the other stuff that will get little respose on this forum.

However, if you are having AC problems, CEL difficulties, and pretty much any other technical difficulty, the MB-Shop Tech forum is the best anywhere...

I'm not especially keen on the big single tip like the Lumina's either. I just used that pic to show what the dual exhaust might look like. I was thinking 4 small oval tips like an SL55 might look nice. I like to keep my car lookin clean and not rice like the huge 3" tips either :)

I for one would not want hot exhaust parts in an area of the car for which they were not designed.

Thank guys. I appreciate the input and the link.

I think it looks odd on the squarish 124 and I hate fake dual exhausts - but to each his own I guess ;)

I would rather do a nice Remus muffler with two rectangular chrome tips or oval tips.

I had a Lorinser muffler with two oval tips on a 230E. That thing sounded horrible :p It made a nice *I was young back then* rumble off line but at cruising speed (80+ mph) it also made an annoying buzzing sound...

probably just some 4-cylinder magic ;) :p

now I kind of want to release some of the burble from the 420's V8 but I really enjoy the car's smoothness on highway cruises. My friend who drives a brand new M3 thinks I shouldn't bother as the subtle V8 rumble sounds nice the way it is.

but anyway yeah.. if it was my car.. I wouldn't bother with dual exhaust and I would look into a Remus/AMG Muffler.

call them up see what they got. Those guys know what they're doing. I believe you would need the first muffler on the list (for the 300E 12V)

I just don't care for it. Looks tacky. I like the square tips like "The Doctor" has.
