Help:
My 1983 300SD TD has the gauge lights out. For several years i had to have the brightness adjuster in just the right place, now they don't function at all. How hard would it be to cut out the adjust knob so that the gauge lights are "FULL" brightness whenever the headlights are on? any other suggestions are appreciated. ------------------ Noah 1999 C43 4Noah |
I don't know about this particular model for sure. I expect that it is a potentiometer like the 123 cars. You can probably push out the cluster and solder a bridge across the potentiometer to give full brightness. Make sure you bridge the correct terminals.

Or you can spend the 30 bucks and get a new one. Even if you are mostly thumbs, it's not that hard to do. :)
