Dual auxiliary fan removal on '93 300E 2.8.

I did a complete search on this and there seems to be two ways of doing it. One is by removing the rad and pushing the fan assembly with the condenser inwards and then up (my mechanic suggested this method as well), the other is just removing the fanshroud and then pulling the offending fan out towards the front. Anyone has any experience removing these fans? It seems to me that there is no room to take out the fans towards the front. Thanks for your help,

Alex

On my 190e I took the front bumper off (4 bolts) then could get to the fans real easy.
