Having trouble removing the hardtop from my '94 SL500. Following manual procedure, Engaging parking brake, open doors, disconnect rear window defroster, and within 10 seconds of turning eky in position 2 (engine not running) slide soft top switch back and hold. Light in top switch blinks, while being pulled back, nothing happens, no noises, no sounds, nothing at all. Check all fuses, under hood, in trunk. Everything looks O.K. Any ideas?

A flashing switch means a diagnostic code is stored. If you do a search you will find the procedure for retrieving the code. All you need is a paper clip or a short wire. Do a search on this site or email me for more help.
