What is a MAF, and what plug are you turning off?

If you are referrng to a mass air meter, how do you expect the car to run with it unplugged?

Why did you replace the ECU?

It sounds like an expensive proposition swapping out parts when trouble shooting a problem.

The OVP is the Over Voltage Protection relay which sits up behind the battery behind the black plastic cover under your windshield.

Its about 3 inches high and has a fuse on the top of it.

They are a known weak spot in the w124/w202's as they had a design fault from new. The replacements which cost about $60 to purchase give no further problems and take about 5 minutes to replace once you have removed the battery.

The OVP protects your ECU and other electricals from getting fried by too much voltage going through the system.

I'm kind of worried at how much money you may have spent on a new MAF/ ECU etc, as the OVP is often the culprit and is cheap to replace.

Good luck

Yes its up next to the ECU and has a fuse on the top of it.....to the right of the ECU as you look at it. It's bolted to the bulkhead with 2x 10mm nuts (I think).

Cheers

It is known to effect the abs light on the dashboard.

If your car is still running on the original OVP relay, I would just replace it. The part is inexpensive and the newer design should not give any further problems.

Cheers

I do not have the part number to hand, all I do know is that if you go into your local Benz dealership and ask for an OVP relay for your model, they will automatically give you the updated version.
