How to get to A/C high side port?
1991 190 2.6
How in the world am I supposed to get to that port so that I can hook up a manifold gauge? They have that think stuck way down there. I can see it, but I sure can't get a hand in there. Even if I could, the stuff around it would be burning hot. If I wait until all is cool and attach it, after the reading when I need do detach it after running the engine, it would be hot then. Any hints? |
If I post this in a forest, and no one is there to read it...will I still get an answer?

Don't you hate it when someone asks if they can use mazola oil in their diesel and they get 100 replies..... My son has my 190E 2.6, or I would look. I know that when I converted it to 134 I did not bother to replace the high side fitting because it was too inaccessible. As I recall I changed the low side to the new fitting and sucked it down, refilling it until the sight glass ran clear. This is not much of an answer, but mine has been cold for 2 years since converting to 134. I may have come up from underneath to connect to the high side. Also I bought another set of gauges and just swap the one hose to use them on this car. |
Thanks, man.
