Wink belly pan shield for 1992 W124

I would like to purchase one of the metal belly pans for my 1992 W124 Sport. Sound like good insurance, beside I use a top sider to drain my oil . Any dealer I can call who could help? What about Phil at Fastlane?

Assuming you want to D I Y

Sure, call Phil, support the website !!

Or call the nearest parts MB Dept and order it yourself
(lots of MB dealers in your neck of the woods)

Or order it from Randy at European Parts Specialists online, or Rusty...

Or have your favorite Indep. MB shop order it - and have him install it

Should be easy

Question Metal belly pan for W124

Perhaps I misunderstood this post. But did someone mention that the metal belly pan was a subsitute special order for a W124 with a M103 983 engine ?

I sent Phil at fastlane an email with the part number posted on this forum my Vin & chassie number. he claims they only have the fiber glass ones ? Is this correct ?

How do I get the metal verson for my 1992 300E sportline. Is there a special part number or option code I need to refer to.? Can the USA dealers import this or do I need to go out side of the USA , Canada to order this part? Is this a direct replacement for the fiber glass pan or are there modifications that need to be made?

Sorry for all the questions.

Cool Which is it Belly pad or skid plate?

I talked to the classic center in Orange county. they likeen it to a skid plate but it does not cover the bottom of the hole engine. like the fiber glass one. Then ""I called Caliber motors in the OC andtold them the part number 124 520 31 42 the reply was this part number should be 124 520 0942 after my parts person whent through the European fishe. There is no stock in Germany and he would have to call me back with a price

Does someone have a picture of this mounted on there 300E M103 983 L6 3.0. sedan. I would like to see what I am going to be buying.

Thank You
Bob Geco

I just called Mercedes of Charleston, SC and the fellow said there were two. One that went under the bumper (Rectangular) and one that replaced the fiberglass pan (Square).

He gave the following part #210-524-1430 and it would be about 52 USD.

I didn't have my VIN handy so I'm not absolutely sure he had the correct match.

Cool Part # 210-524-1430 belly pan

the part number they gave you is for a 400-E not a 300E.DD
different configuration will not fit. My Mercedes- is a 1992 300-E
with the M193 983 L6 cylinder 3.0 liter engine.

The fiberglass largely hugged the body... it appears that this comes down a bit more?

Cool Metal belly pan or skid plate?

I checked with Caliber motors after Phil said the shipping would cost too much and bowed out. After giving the part number #124-520-31 42 My parts person had to look in the European parts fishe and came up with this # 124 520 09 42
not avialible in stock in Germany no price will have to wire Germany and get back with me.
I bet if I call India they stock them !
does anyone have a picture of how this thing. What does it look like mounts to a W124 L6 3.0. liter? I hate to buy it if it is really ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb, plus my parts guy will get ticked for doing all this work for nothing.

you might be better off finding a place makes bed liners in aluminum for pick up trucks, dune buggys etc. A custom shop could probably make one for you and mount it up. I don't think it will would up costing less but probably quicker and maybe better.
Neal, ke6dcj of the 360TE AMG wagon fame had one made for the hills when he lived on the W coast, maybe he needs to see this thread?
