How many bolts hold the water pump in on 190e?

Are their 3 or 4 bolts that hold the water pump on on a 92 190e. I know of the one in the front and the 2 hidden ones in the back. I was just wondering if their was one on the bottom hidden by the tensioner pulley towards the front of the car

Which engine?

On the 6 cyn (M103) there are four bolts including the hidden one:mad:

how do I tell?

How do I tell which engine?? If it is the one with the hidden bolt, is that the bolt in the front of the car on the bottom behind the tensioner?

Its either 4 or 6 cylinder. And yes.

Do you have the new water pump?

I have the pump

I Got the pump today and it has 4 bolts. I tried taking the old one off and stripped the back bottom bolt. No extractor would take it out so I am putting it back together and taking it to the shop. They can deal with it.

Thank you for everything

if you haven't given up

This job is a pain.
To get access did you remove the front bumper, radiator( unbolt lift and tilt forward) set aside the AC and the Power steering, remove the idler and air filter housing. This might get enough access to get to that rear bolt. Mine had been replaced once before and someone used a conventional bolt on that one location.
Mine is a 1991 190E 2.6 and may be different, but that's what it took to get the pump off.
And mine only had a bad bypass hose. I also changed the pump, idler pully and bearing, fan pully and bearing assembly, sepentine belt and all hoses. Don't want to go back there again.
I feel your pain, Jeff

Thats why I decided to spend the couple hundred dollers and have it done. With my luck I'll end up messing something else up and it will cost me more to do it myself.

thank you
