Sway Bars
I just acquired a few things:
Eibach Sway Bar Box (Not the sway bars unfortunately) and W124 1988 300E OEM Front and OEM Rear Sway Bars + Bushings From what I read so far, I understand that my 1989 300ce has a 13mm rear bar and the sedan has a 15mm rear bar. I was wondering if I should consider using the 15mm rear bar to replace the 13mm that I have on my coupe currently. Buying the Sportline Plus sway bars will be a future upgrade. If not, can someone tell me which bushings I have? Thank You |
Shot 3 is the inner bushing and shot 4 is the outer bushing for the standard 26.5 mm inner/18 mm outer diameter front sway bar. Used on the standard coupe and sedan 6 cyl suspension.
I would use the 15 mm rear bar. |
Thank You dakota. I think I want to spray the rear bar with something to protect it. Any suggestions?

Couldn't you just spray them with black rust-o-leum?
Thanks David |
Just wrap the bar with a few layers of electrical tape at the point where the bushing will be fitted.
I think you will find that stiffening the rear bar by 2MM and leaving the front bar as is will give you a more neutral fell than if you were to stiffen both bars. A few years ago I put Sportline bars on my 300E. I just this past weekend put the original front bar back on. It feels much better. I should, however, point out that I prefer a little oversteer rather than leaning toward understeer. Good luck, |
