Just went through the chassis manuals. Refers to a special tool that looks like a visegrip with long arms. Is this really needed. The manual said it preloads the sunroof. Can you do without it. Do not want to take the roof apart and not be able to reassemble without this tool Thanks

To clean and lube the easy way, just set it back, use some windex to clean all of the stainless and then lube with Mercedes lube. (just like Peroleum Jelly)

I understand from a previous post that brake paste is an acceptable substitute for sunroof grease, if only a bit heavier in weight. Is this the same stuff as the anti-seize compound sold in Fast lane? Or would petroleum jelly work just as well?

thanks,

anthony

I'm the one who received what I thought was brake paste when I asked for sunroof lube. I took it back and it turned out to be a mis-label on the can! I've used this lube on all 3 of my cars that have sun/moon roofs and it works wonderfully!
