$5200 for a 1985 500SEL in EC a good price?

I have found a local 1985 Mercedes 500SEL 4dr in EC for $5200. It looks very nice, 100% rust free. The dealer (specializes in European cars), said it runs great and it has fairly low miles (was unsure, but I did not get him to go out and look), but it has a clunking sound from the front suspension. He said he thinks it may be a loose bolt, or some bushings required. If it is the bushings, how much does it normally cost to have this repaired? I know that for $5200 I could buy a very nice 81-85 300SD, which I will probably do, but this 500SEL is a very nice car and does deserve considerations.

Does anyone here have a 1984-1985 500SEL?

Thanks for any information.

84-85 500 sel (U.S cars) Are my favorite MB models. About 2 years ago I sold my silver 84 500 sel. Man what a car, I currently own a mint 88 560 sel. The 560 is perfect it is realy sweet, but for some reason I miss my 500 sel. THE 500'S due tend to have a bit more fuel injection components, such as a warm up,and a freuency valve. So they are a little more complicated. But still miss that car. I think 5200.00 is a bit much for tha car. But that is my opinion. They are great cars, my 560 is alot better of a car and more fuel efficient. But every time I work on 500 sel I rember mine and start to miss it. Here is a pic of it, I sold it to a guy in Alaska.

'89-91 gas S class cars are the way to go. Tons of KE3 info in the archives, MUCH nicer seats, and hundreds and hundreds of improvements.
