Which Brake Pads To Use? Reg Or Metal?? S500
1994 S500
Time to replace brake pads. I have been using the stock pads from PBR and they dust just like the stock MB pads. Why would I go wrong using the PBR Metal Master Pads?

I went thru the front brake pad nightmare last year... tried several kinds... and all squealed like crazy no matter what I did... used the MB paste, used Permetex Disc Quiet, shaved the pads, roughed the rotors, etc, etc, etc... they all squealed like mad.
Put in a stock set of MB pads and quiet as a church mouse... They do an excellent job stopping the car but, as you know, there's plenty of dust... Good luck!

Any car we work on here in my shop or even my cars always get OE pads, Thoose aftermarket pads just sqeak no matter what you do. Do your self a favor and get genuine MB pads and brake paste. This way you wil do it once, and not have to deal with squeaks.

OEM will be the quitest usually. I use Textar on my car and have found them to be good performers. For a low dust pad, I have heard a lot of good things about the Porterfield R4-S compund.
