Engine Mounts

What would happen if I installed engine mounts for a 300E/TE into my 2.3-16V? Would this result in engine vibrations of some type or are these interchangeable? Are they both hydraulic? I was told in the past that they would work, so I installed the 300E mounts in my 16V , but my car now vibrates wether idling or driving. Is this just coincidence?

AFAIK the engine mounts for a 16v are the same as those used in the W124 chassis. and yes, they are hydraulic.

if you just re&re'd the mounts you should experience a drop in engine noise and vibration as I did when a replaced mine this past spring. if you're experiencing vibrations then you may want to double check the mounts and also see if there is anywhyere that the engine components might be making contact with the chassis.

Thanks. Is one brand better than another? Lemforder mounts are much more expensive than Boge. Are they better? I did not like the Hamburg Technics mounts at all, so I gave them back and bought Boges.I wonder if I should try the Lemforders. Any ideas?

i wouldn't be able to tell you. I just went with what the dealership had: Boge. since my old mounts were completely collapsed, the difference was night and day.
