Recently i read it in the "Oil & Filter Change" article in the DIY section, you mentioned that engine oil level should NOT be overfilled. Just wondering what will happen if one leave the engine oil level slightly higher than the max. mark on the oil dipstick and what happens if it's way higher???
thank you for your response. |

Just a little higher, like an 1/8" or something probably will not hurt anything. If it is like a half quart or more overfilled, the oil will probably foam, not a good thing.
You might do a search on this. I remember Benzmac offering a very detailed post on this very thing some months back. Good luck, ------------------ Larry Bible '01 C Class, Six Speed '84 Euro 240D, 523K miles '88 300E 5 Speed '81 300D Daughter's Car Over 800,000 miles in Mercedes automobiles |

To LarryBible,
Thank you for your info on this subject. After some research, i've found answers to all my questions--apparently someone had the same concern before. Thank you...and now i can sleep. |
