Does anyone happen to know where the A/C relay is for the 95 c220? I Have a customer who's car is overheating and the aux fans don't seem to come online once the car is warm and the A/C kicks in. If anyone could help I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance

There is a relay that is located under the top side of the fuse box. It has a fuse in it that can blow.(15A) We always replace them with the 20A.

Benzmac - I tested my car this afternoon and found out the fans were not coming on. Found the fuse blown. I had been having to turn the ac off when driving through town because of lack of cooling capacity.
Have you ever had any wires to burn because of running the 20 amp fuse.
Thanks especially for letting us know where the relay is and giving the advice on the 20 amp.

As these fans draw 17-18 amps, the original 15A fuse won't last long. The wiring is designed to take over 30A that happens when the fans run on high. It's not blowing 30A fuse is it?

Speaking of wiring, I am working on a 95 E420 with an A/C not cooling well complaint.

Testing revealed that the A/C was cycling on and off due to high pressures and the fans weren't on. Turns out the 18ga wire going to the stage one blower resister burned in two at one end of the resistor. The resistor connector appears loose and causing the extra resistance to heat the area, but the wire burned in two not the connector.

This would of failed differently a few years ago when they put real wires on these vehicles.

Benzmac: Does the fuse upgrade also apply to mid 80's cars? My 190e 2.3-16 has a 16 amp bullet fuse, red in color. The next fuse rating up is blue and that is a 25 amp rating. Thanks, Joe
