Help Please- Can't Bleed Rear Brakes

Hello,

I tried to flush the brake fluid on my 260E '88. The front brakes flushed OK but the rear brakes, after the fuid came out, the fluid in the reservoir is not going down, no matter how much we pump it.

Is there a trick to bleeding the rear brakes on these cars?

Please help. My wife needs the car in the morning.

Thanks.

The brake fluid reservoir has dual compartments. The front half is for front brakes, the rear half is for rear brakes. In order for the rear half to fill up, you need to fill the front such that brake fluid "overflows" the dividing wall...

To add to Speedy's comments, this rear chamber is hard to notice as it is almost surrounded by the front chamber which is what you see.

Thanks Guys.

That's just what I did and it worked. It was not ovious to me at all. I filled it up as much as I could then I was able to bleed the rear brakes.

Thanks a bunch.
