I have a 1986 300sdl [174000]that shimmies in the front when I hit a large wave or bump in the road sometimes so severe I have to break to stop the front end from shaking. I just had alignment, wheels balanced, and idler arm replaced. What is next to remedy my problem?

There is a large bushing at the end of the BRAKE strut rod on each lower control arm, when they wear out this type of shimmy can happen. Also as posted the steering shock should be checked & replaced.
