Front Headrest rattle

I looked over the excellent posts and pics about removal of the front seatback/headrest. But my question is about diagnosing a rattle. In my case, only on the passenger side. It seems like the headrest has some "play", but it's not obvious to me, from the pics of the mechanism, what would be causing the rattle. Is the headrest post just loose in it's mounting track? I'm trying to figure out if this is something I can troubleshoot without having to remove the seatback. Seem to rattle less when the headrest is all the way down, but it still does it. Driver side is silent. It's a 99 E300. Anyone with 1st-hand experience care to comment?
thx

I have a brand new C class that did the same thing. Went into the dealer 4 times before they got it to stop making noise. Inside the seat, a lot of the headrest track and other parts are plastic. They tend to squeak, rattle, etc. You've noticed that yours is quieter when it is lowered.....that's because there is less pressure on it, etc. I bet it's totally silent when someone is sitting in that seat too!
