How do you remove a gauge cluster on a 96 C280 Sport?

I tried the clotheshanger trick but It wouldn't slide out like my 300E.

do a search on this list you should find instructions on how to make the tool important to get the angle and length of the piece that detaches the cluster.
alternately pull on the cluster
the tool is inserted near the halfway point on the sides,

I can get one for a 1998 c280 and it looks identical
