Another kudos for Eurowheel. Carlos offers excellent service and prices by keeping overhead low. I will continue to use him for work I dont want to tackle personally.
Super reasonable and very honest. Dub

Emmerich,
I think I saw your two cars over at MPH a while back...if they were yours, they sure are nice. Mike told me that the owner of them lives in Dallas and brings them down for service. I was quite jealous.

I had Mike rebuild one of my transmissions. He charged me for twice as many parts as the transmission uses. I am talking about the friction parts like bands and clutch rings. Don't know why he felt he needed to do this. I have never been back since.

Exactly what parts do you feel were doubled? There is one band on your invoice. And the exact number of clutch fibers and steels that the trans contains. I dont see the problem.

I have found them honest and never had trouble getting any explanation about my car or any invoice. Mike even gives me answers in e-mail to general questions I have about my cars, even when they are not at his shop. Fred E

Well it looks like time to eat a little crow. First off, let me offer my appologies to Mike and everyone else on this forum and then let me explain.
About 5 years ago it went something like this; Tranny fails - take it to Mike. He quotes a price, I agree and he does a great job fixing the tranny. I pay the bill and go on my way. On one of my other cars the tranny fails and I decide to repair it myself. I wanted to learn something about transmissions. I do overhaul it and in the process I refer to Mike's invoice to see what parts he changed as a double check on what I was doing. Somehow I must have got it wrong and came to the conclusion that the quantity of SOME of the parts were incorrect. The insides of the transmission were new to me and I goofed. Since reading this, I have reviewed Mike's invoice and I admit that it looks correct. There was no deception on Mike's part. It was my error. I appologize again to Mike and everyone else here for my mistake. Somehow I came to the conclusion that he had put twice as many friction parts. I made a mistake. Now - to answer the question as to why I didnt say anything at the time is this. He fixed the tranny and it was about a year later when I tore into one myself. So a year had passed before I thought that I had been overcharged. What was the point in confronting Mike? He quoted a price to do the work. He did what he said he would do. He did it well, I was happy with the work and the price. I didnt see any need to dredge anything up. And now I am glad I didnt because I was wrong. I simply made a mental note of what I thought had happened and went on. I saw no point going back to him and arguing over a few dollars. All in all he is in business and has to make a living and I was not going to question how he operates his business. That is up to him. How many people could verify if the correct quantity of transmission parts were used? I certainly could not have done so when I paid the bill. So given the situation I decided to let it go and not use him in the future. So maybe I should have done something different. I must say that the MB auto repair world in Houston is relatively small and I have talked to alot of people who confirm that Mike is a great mechanic and he has an exellent reputation in town. To Mike's credit no one has had a bad thing to say about him or his work. In fact the opposite is true. I was always wondering why I me? - The fact is it was me. Also since I am clearing up a mistake let me say that when Mike did do the work he allowed me into his shop to examine the tranny while is was dissasembled and even loaned me a manual explaining the design and function of the transmission. I learned a lot and his kindness has not been forgotten. Again I appologize to Mike and everyone else. I take it all back.

Wow!. Thanks Dave. That may be the best "oops" I have ever seen.
No hard feelings on my part, as I said before, I didnt understand how there was a complaint. Glad to know there isn't. As you said, its a small world , even in a big city. MPH has been here for 24 years, I have seen many others come and go. We dont claim to be the cheapest, fastest or even the nicest. Thanks for being so magnanimous in your response. Happy Motoring!

Sounds like Mike is cleared on this one but, I'll add my two cents, he's an honest, knowledgeable MB guy. My wife and I took our CD, SD and SL (Oh yes, I almost forgot - our ambulance doored, pin striped, 2-dr G280E sitting on 31x10.50 Dunlops on BBS wheels) to him for years and let me tell you, he never BS'ed us or overcharged us - got it fixed right the first time. If you've got a tough problem that no one else can fix, go see Mike.
When we moved to the Valley, he was kind enough to refer us to another guru (Larry Egbert) and we had great experience there as well. MIke gets two thumbs up from us!!! (now if he'd just get all of the motorcycles out of his lobby!!)
