Other possible shops in Texas.

International Automotive Technicians' Network; iATN Repair Shop Finder.

http://www.iatn.net/shopfinder/

Bosch Authorized Automotive Service.

http://www.boschservice.com/FindSvcCenter/Pages/FindingaServiceCenter.aspx

All sponsor members of iATN agree to an ethical code of conduct as part of our obligation to our customers.
There is however still the need to check locally on a shop for references.

Not all those listed are service shops...some are VoTech's and other specialized businesses.
The list now covers the whole world and every continent.

Need to bookmark this if your are traveling out of your home area.
Those highlighted in 'blue' are sponsor members.

ASE—Certifying the Automotive Professional
Finding a competent auto technician need not be a matter of chance. Much of the guesswork has been eliminated, thanks to national program conducted by the non-profit National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

I am selling my 1980 240d and checked to see if John could put new valve stem seals on it... as I am no longer able to bend over for extended periods...

I had to correct this posting..

the guys I had dealt with are still over near Cedar Creek....

their phone was not working the other day...

and I accidentally got hooked up with an MB mechanic which lives closer...
finally figured it out this morning...
I had met this guy 15 years ago...
not sure what I am going to do...
will update...

Why stem seals? Excessive oil consumption? Having been there, and done the stem seals, I would suggest a leakdown for additional information first.

If you can get out to the Dripping Springs area, I have just the guy to go from diagnosis to repair. We have two W103 motors apart at the moment if you would like to take a look.
