Former Benz Worshop customer (Austin)
Ben is a prima dona.
He is good but way too expensive and won't admit he has ever made a mistake. After his crew left off parts, broke parts and then re-installed broken trim-wasting my time, he had no apologies. His postion on nearly every matter is that there is one way to correct the problem (his) and it will be expensive. Ultimately, he told me not to bring my 560SL back. Why, I asked: His answer was, "I haven't lost money on your car yet but I might". Do yourself a favor and find someone who will appreciate your business and work with you and not simply see you as another dollar. |

LMAO. I have a 300D with at least $1200 worth of reciepts from Ben's for work on the intermittently non-functional a/c (average 2X year) when the car belonged to the PO. Every receipt included 'recharge' the a/c and a hefty pricetag. I've owned the car for 3+ years and the a/c has quit only ONCE and that was when the aged and long-broken electrical plug to the compressor clutch came adrift and the clutch wouldn't engage. A tie-wrap around it secured the plug and made it good as new.
...oh, I've NEVER had to add refrigerant either. And, my experience is that car a/c leaks don't magically fix themselves. Go figure.
